Marcelo is a registered psychotherapist MBACP (Accred). He is a member of both the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).
He holds a BSc in Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Career Counselling (PGDip) from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP), as well as a Gestalt Therapy specialization (PGCert) from Sedes Sapientiae in Brazil and a certificate in Couples Work from NSPC.
He is also a final-year Doctorate student in Psychotherapy and Counselling Psychology (DPsych) in London, and is currently training in EMDR.
With nearly two decades of experience in clinical practice, Marcelo’s research focuses on occupational burnout, workplace stress, and their intersections with gender and sexuality.
Marcelo combines Gestalt therapy and existential phenomenology into his practice, offering an integrative and tailored approach that addresses issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, identity, sexuality, relationships, career transitions, and workplace stress. This helps clients gain clarity, embrace change, and improve their lives in meaningful ways.
In addition to his clinical work, Marcelo brings more than 10 years of managerial experience in Human Resources, which enhances his understanding of workplace dynamics and stress factors.
A native Brazilian, he provides therapy in both Portuguese and English.
Marcelo is registered with WPA, Aviva, Vitality and AXA insurers.
Rates
Individuals £90 –
Sessions last 50 minutes and are recommended weekly.
Couples £120 –
Sessions last 50 minutes and are recommended weekly.
